Our company has recently taken over tech support for another company in our building, and they are using an old NEC PBX phone system that has been a nightmare to decipher. I've managed to learn some rudimentary operations for maintenance and troubleshooting, but we are now faced with some greater programming challenges as their company structure has changed radically and the phone system needs to reflect this. I've been scouring the internet for resources on how to program the system through the MATWorX console, but have thus far only been able to get my hands on a brief document called 'IPS 2000 Administration' from the company that installed the system which shows some basic functions but has little to no explanation of how or why they work. I was hoping someone here could point me in the direction of a more complete manual, specifically a command list for the MOC interface, or give me any insight you may have into how to handle this system.

Any advice is appreciated. Dang, you brought back some memories. On that system you had to basically decode/encode the ouput/input. Reminds me of those war movies where radio transmissions had to be decrypted and encrypted on the spot using a little book.

Basically, it's the same concept when using the MOC. All you're doing is translating what your programming into hex and typing it into the system by referencing the command manual. Sometimes, it's a little more intuitive. Or maybe it just seems that way once you get use to it. Here's the link to the manuals: This is the Command Manual, the IVS and IVS2 are very similar, but IVS2 has more commands. Using the MOC I dont remember which keys are which, but there should be some kind of diagram to show you which keys translate into DE, ST, EXE, etc. (Page 5 of command manual.) I think a couple they are mapped to F keys or something.

Honestly, if you want to bypass all that reading, I would hire your local NEC vendor for a half day training session with one of their techs. Just write down some normal day-to-day routines like moving extensions, changing names, etc. And have the tech show you how to do it. Jaime Escalante Math Program Elac Speakers.

MATWorx is suppose to be a little more graphical than the MOC, so I would try to use that better. With the MOC you can really mess things up if you dont know what you are doing. It might take the tech a little time to translate things for you on the MATWorx side (all the techs I use to know were hardcore CAT/MAT (command line driven) guys) but should be a pretty informative session. Hope the links help, but seriously after reading the first few pages of that command manual I don't blame you for picking up a phone and calling for back up.:).

That's exactly what I was looking for, thanks! Unfortunately our local vendor has been very unresponsive despite how much we pay them, so being the closest thing in our company to an expert in this phone system (basically I know how to assign/swap stations and associate voicemails) I've decided to figure it out for myself until we can get a VoIP setup put in (near future, but until then they still need a working phone system). Can everything you do in MOC be done with the regular MATWorX interface, or is it a whole other monster? A lot of the customer side stuff and a bit more can be done through MATWorx, but honestly it's been a long time and I dont remember the interface too well.

MATWorx is actually a graphical setup for MOC. In the background it actually just sends MOC commands. The MATWorx software should also have the documents in the Help menu if I remember correctly. You should read through some of that. The main manuals I remember always referring to were the Feature Programming and Command Manual. Silverfast Ai Studio 8 Keygen Machine here.

The feature description manual was also pretty handy.
